Our job is to stimulate
and enable learning. We understand that, sometimes, people come to training
or coaching demonstrating negative or unhelpful behaviours related to the training
or coaching focus. this is more likely where training or coaching is required
of, rather than sought by, the participant.
We see positive behaviour and attitudes to be an outcome of effective training - not a prerequisite for learning.
And
we have a lot of skill and a great track record in bringing about behaviour
and attitude change!
Any
Exceptions?
The rare exceptions to this practice are negotiated
before training begins in clear and explicit contracts
with participants and with a full and frank discussion regarding the reasons
and details. This might occur, for example, where assessment is part of
the training contract; or where management want feedback from staff on specific
aspects of course content.
In such circumstances,
staff are provided with a copy of the information recorded or reported and are
provided with an opportunity to correct or add comment before any report to
management.
